Honey

Honey is by far the most appreciated of all hive products. As most of us know, it is not only an excellent energy source but also a remarkable natural medication. As food its “job” is to reach all body cells whether they are healthy or not. As medicine it has to reach all targets: “sick” cells, tissues, organs and systems.
I will talk about honey as a food source and about some general rules one has to respect in order to store and consume it properly.

1st. Do not expose honey directly into sunlight because it destroys most of its valuable enzymes.

2nd. Seal honey package properly so as not to absorb external smells resulting to the loss of its natural aroma.

3rd. Honey is known to absorb water very easily even if there are only very small quantities in the atmosphere. Excessive water in honey (over 20-23%) will allow ferment to develop which in turn will lead to honey fermentation.

4th. Preserve honey in your refrigerator. Although most honey varieties can be preserved in room temperature, without many changes, you should bare in mind that honey “ages” day by day.

5th. do not heat up honey before consumption by stirring it into hot tea or milk because most of its enzymes are destroyed.

6th. if you consume honey plainly, keep it under your tongue for as long as you can before you swallow in order to allow the finest substances (essential oils, minerals, glucose etc.) to pass directly in your bloodstream.

7th. before you swallow try to sense its aroma.

8th. Eating small quantities several times a day is better than eating a lot only rarely.

As a beekeeper I took honey from the bees and under the best conditions I put in the vase for you. The only thing you need to do is try to keep its value set until you have that last sweet spoonful of it from your vase.
